Unless we amend Standing Order No.176, it is very sad. We have a senior Member of FORD (K) in the House; the Deputy Minority Whip, none other than Hon. Chris Wamalwa, a senior ranking Member of that party. This Standing Order says - I want to read it for everybody – “The parliamentary party that nominated a member to a select committee may give notice, in writing, to the Speaker that the member is to be discharged from a select committee.” This matter is as clear as the day is from the night. If he has not received a letter from FORD (K), then in the opinion and the interpretation of this Standing Order, Hon. Mwashetani cannot be de-whipped. It is as clear as that."}
