I only have five minutes to second this Address to this House and the nation by His Excellency the President. I will emphasise three key words he used. One, the President talked about “the covenant”. Two, he talked about “the nationhood” and three, “the nationalist covenant.” A covenant is a bond, contract, commitment, agreement, undertaking or a promise between several entities. His Excellency the President was reminding this nation that there was a covenant by the founding fathers of this nation that we need to reaffirm and keep alive as a nation.
