(1) A pregnancy may be terminated by a trained health professional, where in the opinion of the trained health professional- (a) there is need for emergency treatment; (b) the pregnancy would endanger the life or health of the mother; or (c) there exists a substantial risk that the fetus would suffer from a severe physical or mental abnormality that is incompatible with life outside the womb. (2) Trained health professionals shall offer non-directive counselling, before and after the termination of a pregnancy. (3)Termination of pregnancy shall be performed by a trained health professional."}
