Sijeny","speaker_title":"","speaker":{"id":13127,"legal_name":"Judith Achieng Sijeny","slug":"judith-achieng-sijeny"},"content":"Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, the Bill be amended by inserting the following new clause immediately after Clause 6 Limitations The following limitations shall apply to assisted reproduction services- (a) gametes shall not be used in research except with the consent of the gamete provider; (b) an assisted reproduction health specialist shall not use, supply or export a gamete except with the written consent of the donor and in a manner consistent with the donor's consent; (c) gametes shall not be used in assisted reproduction treatment if the gamete provider is deceased unless the gamete provider had given consent to the use of gametes before death; and (d) an assisted reproduction health professional shall not use a gamete to create an embryo if the assisted reproduction health specialist has knowledge that the donor is a close family member of the recipient to avoid genetic complications."}
