Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the Committee rejected this amendment and recommended to the House to reject it. The amendment seeks to create clarity by providing that the Director-General or the Authority be the secretary for the Advisory Committee. The amendment also seeks to include a representative of KEPSA in the Advisory Committee, and to ensure that the persons to be co-opted have the necessary expertise. However, noting that the Advisory Committee is an inter-ministerial Committee, KEPSA membership would create conflict of interest. In any case, there is a provision for co-option as and when need arises. Therefore, there will be no need for creating an extra clause to care for co-option."}
