Previously, we had the compulsory acquisition. As Kenyans, we are moving away from compulsory acquisition to a situation where there must be negotiations between the owners of the land and the Government on the price at which the owner has to be compensated. I support this amendment because it gives the owner an upper hand before his or her land is acquired for any purpose."}
