I can now say exactly what I wanted to say but did not say it that time. What I find offensive, which is the basis on which I raised an objection, is on page 215 of this Report. I would really hate to see this House throwing away the baby with the bath water. This Report is good except for what I raised. I would want this Report passed without the offensive idea found on page 215 under “Nomination and Registration of Candidates”. That is paragraph number 659(7), which says as follows:- “That after the names of candidates are forwarded to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, a candidate who changes their party shall not be eligible to contest in an election as a candidate of the new party or as an independent candidate.” Hon. Deputy Speaker, this is the only offensive provision I found in this Report. There are many others but this is the one I want to focus on. To cure this, I am proposing an amendment to this Report by deleting paragraph 659(7) at Page 215 of the Report."}
