As leaders here, we do not want to say it. This is a step forward under this Committee. The KBC should play its private sector role. It should be like the Kenya Television Network (KTN) or Citizen. It should not be given a special consideration under the law. It should play its role equitably. This Report on the Departmental Committee on Energy, Communications and Information is a pointer to the rot that is going on in other parastatals under various Ministries in this country. Under the spirit of the new Constitution, I think legislation should be put in place to set a benchmark on how Board members and CEOs of various Government agencies will be appointed.
