Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 21 of the Bill be amended— (a) in Sub-clause (1) by inserting the word “informant” immediately after the word “whistleblower”; (b) in Sub-clause (2) by deleting the word “unfavorable” and substituting therefor the word “unfavourable”; and, (c) in Sub-clause (3) by deleting the words “on a case by case basis” immediately after the words “Witness Protection Agency” Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, we are introducing some generics here. The clause provides for a whistleblower but we also have informants. Therefore, we are adding an extra category of those who can report bribery. Under Sub-clause (3), we are saying that the Witness Protection Agency shall consider the extent that a whistleblower is entitled to protection on a case by case basis depending on the gravity of the allegations made against the accused person.
