I thank the Committee for having done a thorough job to investigate matters related to the Tassia II Project. The genesis of the fight at the NSSF is the tendering process for the development and purchase of the Tassia II Project to the tune of Kshs2.2billion which was later escalated to Kshs5billion. The war at the NSSF with regard to this project was whether the tendering process was done according to the law or fictitiously. I remember a member of the Board of Trustee, the COTU Secretary-General, Mr. Francis Atwoli, went public opposing this project because of the manner in which the minutes of the Board were approved. They were done through emails circulation and some Board members did not access them. That was the genesis of the problems at the NSSF, which led to the resignation of the immediate former CEO, Mr. Langat."}
