Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 26 of the Bill be amended by deleting sub-clause (2) and substituting therefor the following new sub-clause− (2) The Cabinet Secretary may, on application being made to him or her by the person concerned, extend the three-month period referred to in subsection (1)(c) if he or she is satisfied that there is a reasonable likelihood of the person being admitted to a country of his or her choice within such extended period.” The justification is that this amendment seeks to give the Cabinet Secretary the power to extend the stay of a person within Kenya until such time as to enable him or her seek admission into another country."}
