I rise to support the Motion. Coming from Murang’a, it is good that I add my voice in respect to the water we give, especially to our capital city. As I support the Mining and Minerals Policy, I hope going forward we will treat our people equally. Our people in Murang’a need to have water before they donate to the city. I support the Motion knowing too well that minerals and mining account for only one percent of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP). I am sure we can do better. Minerals should not become a curse like in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) which has mineral deposits worth more than US$24trillion, but it is the poorest country on earth. I am sure we can chart a better way."}
