Amending Clause 23 (2a) will do away with the requirement that a person only qualifies to be appointed as Director-General of the Board of the Food Security Authority if they have a Master’s degree. The Committee proposes that a person qualifies for appointment if they have a degree from a university recognized in Kenya, given the fact that such person will be required to have knowledge and a minimum of 10 years experience in the food sector. These minimum requirements are considered adequate for a person to qualify for appointment. In addition, these are minimum requirements and it does not stop the board from appointing a person with higher qualifications."}
