We have other avenues - whether through legislation or amendment of existing laws - to protect farmers in the country. I urge Members, especially my neighbour who is opposed to the Bill that we can improve it and I assure him that it will be beneficial to farmers in this country. The fact that corruption exists does not mean that we should develop cold feet in passing legislation. I am sure that other agencies will ensure the laws are clear on what happens to a corrupt person. If we have an individual who does not take action against cartels, we pray that one day such an office will be occupied by a man or woman who will implement the law and root out corruption from the country."}
