Section 2 of the Land Act, 2012 is being amended to allow a definition of what is fair compensation to mean that which has been assessed via the criteria established under this Act. Again, there is also a definition of what is prompt because the law says there must be prompt compensation. The amendment makes it clear that the prompt compensation is to be paid within a reasonable period of time, but not later than a year after a written undertaking between the Commission and the individual, authority or agency that is acquiring the land for purposes of development."}
