Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill 2018. I want to begin by saying that this is a very simple Bill which is about equal participation of both men and women in democracy, governance and decision-making. Equal participation of men and women in politics is an effective way of good governance. It is one of the methods that can be used to say whether we are a democratic country or not. So, this is very simple. I know there are some fears that have been expressed by men. I wanted to begin by addressing a few of them. One, if women are more in a House like this, then men will be outnumbered and will not have a voice."}
