I agree that we are trying as much as possible to build the capacity of the county assemblies so that they do not become appendices or a rubber stamp of the county executive. We were told by Sen. Faki that the Mombasa County Assembly is facing closure simply because – according to the information that we are getting – of the fight between the County Executive and the County Assembly. The County Executive wants them to rubberstamp, and the County Assembly told them, “No, you are over reaching your mandate.”"}
