I recently came back from Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom (UK), where I had gone to observe the elections. Elections are held on the first preference basis. I believe this is the reason why, in a country where there was a lot of divisiveness, people find a way to get along and accept that certain people are preferred more than others."}
