Part of the key highlights of the Bill is that we are pushing for a strong regulator in the tea sector because basically, tea farmers have been left on their own. When the Government changed Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) from being a state parastatal to being a private entity, many small-scale tea farmers have ended up suffering in their hands. It is my hope that the National Assembly will agree with us on the need to have a strong regulator in the tea sector."}
