In fact, when I first came to Parliament in 2008, a friend of mine who was a Member of Parliament, but whose name I will not mention had a brokerage insurance firm and convinced me to insure my brand new vehicle with his brokerage firm. I only came to realise after eight months that my vehicle was not insured at all. In fact, I thank God I never had an accident in that vehicle. If I had an accident in it and it was written off or was stolen, and it was comprehensively covered according to my knowledge, I would have lost it in its entirety. Therefore, if there is a suggestion that payment should be made directly to the underwriters, I support it fully. Let brokerage firms negotiate and agree with clients, but after that the money should be paid directly to the underwriters. That is why I agree fully with the President’s Memorandum and thinking."}
