As the Senate or Parliament, we depend on the report of the Auditor-General in doing oversight work, particularly in considering reports that are annually or regularly given to the House. The current Auditor-General, in terms of comparisons with other Auditor-Generals we have had over the years, has done a magnificent job. The only other Auditor-General who can compare with him, but whom I think he surpasses, was the first Auditor and Controller-General; a Mr. Njoroge. He was the first indigenous Kenyan to occupy that office."}
