Cheruiyot was moving the Motion, I do not remember him taking us through the recommendations but I think it is extremely important. Since I was a Member of the Ad Hoc Committee, I will only give you the highlights of our recommendations. The first and foremost is that the President should form a commission of inquiry to look into the issues raised by tea farmers. I will not read all of them but they include; alleged misappropriation of farmers’ income in dubious investments that do not benefit or earn farmers any profit; advice on the possibility of carrying out forensic audit of the operations of the KTDA since it became a private entity; and, investigate the issue of price fixing at the auction in Mombasa by the multinationals."}
