I rise under Standing Order 84 to make a short Personal Statement. The whole of last night and today, people have been calling me from my constituency and around the nation, that there was a post on social media that yesterday I survived a terrorist attack in Mandera. Let it be known that the whole of yesterday, I was in Parliament. Hon. Speaker, as a person who professes the Islamic faith and also a practising Muslim, I condemn the activities of Al Shabaab in Mandera and in the whole of North Eastern Region. For that reason, whatever has appeared in the social media, I want to tell my family, friends and constituents that is it fake news and is part of the misleading social media that we continue to experience as leaders."}
