I rise to request for a Statement regarding virtual learning. Pursuant to provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research regarding the introduction of virtual learning. We are all aware that COVID-19 is a serious international pandemic that has led to the closure of our schools since 15th March 2020. However, despite the Government having established virtual learning for home-based schooling for learners across the country, not all pupils and students have equal access to television and mobile telephone gadgets with internet access due to socio-economic difficulties.
