From the outset, I would like to say that I support the recommendations that the Committee has given. I am very happy that the Vice-Chancellor at Kenyatta University is the first woman to head a public university and for women of Kenya, that is a plus and I want to say that we give her our support. I would want to give her my support as a woman because not many of us women ever get that opportunity. I would also want to congratulate the V-C, Prof. Olive Mugenda, because she has done a lot of infrastructural development in that university which is very impressive. It shows that when you put a woman in a position of authority, we get things done and it is because of that, that I support the proposed constitution that gives women more power and authority."}
