It serves as the administrative hub for Githunguri Constituency. The land hosts various Government agencies including the County Land Registry, the Deputy County Commissioner’s offices, the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) offices, and the Constituency office. "content": "No.244 of 14th January 2011, gazetted the land as a national heritage site to be shared as follows: Githunguri Gallows, Maumau Trench, Githunguri Kiriri, and Jomo Kenyatta College. Despite this status, a recent official search conducted revealed that a portion of the land was transferred in 2011 to a Ms Lydia Wanjiku Gatheca of Identification Card No.3368832, who is now claiming ownership and seeks to occupy it. This has raised alarm among residents and public servants as the details regarding the transfer of the public land remain unclear. Article 62 of the Constitution provides that public land includes, among other aspects, land in respect of which no individual or community ownership can be established by any legal processes. This alleged claim of ownership of the said public land by an individual raises serious concerns regarding land administration processes. Hon. Speaker"
