"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I rise to second this Motion. I do not want to belabour what the Member said. Cancer is a real issue in this country. It is high time we invested in health, especially in cancer treatment. The Senate only came up with one amendment that the Departmental Committee on Health concurred with because it does not change the spirit or letter of the Bill. They proposed that we insert the words “including telemedicine” immediately after the words “and information technology”. This amendment comes after we passed the Health Bill. Therefore, it is very important that we also include telemedicine in the Bill. I will not belabour what has been said. I beg to second the Motion."

"content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I just want to emphasise the need for telemedicine and e-medicine because we have to move with technology. With the introduction of the Social Health Authority (SHA), which allows hospitals to interconnect, a patient may be in a facility like Engineer County Hospital in Nyandarua to get an X-ray or a Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) taken, but his doctor is in Nairobi. The patient may not be required to travel all the way to Nairobi for treatment. That is why this amendment suffices. I support the Mover and architect of this Bill because it is timely. It is about time that we utilised technology even in medicine."
