I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the alleged grabbing of public utility land LR. No.50059/86 in Makadara Constituency, Nairobi City County. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Establish the legal ownership of the parcel of land LR. No.50059/86, which is a road reserve lying between Buruburu Phase II and Harambe Estate. (2) Investigate the circumstances under which a private developer acquired the land, disclosing the individual or entities responsible and legal action taken, and further spell out measures taken to ensure that residents regain access to the main road, which is currently blocked by the private developer.
