    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Senator for Nyeri County had sought for a Statement on the depreciation of the Kenyan shilling against other major currencies. In particular, he wanted to know about the following four issues:- (1) the cause of depreciation of the Kenyan shilling; (2) the mitigating measures taken by the Government to address the issue; (3) the impact of the depreciation on the foreign loans repayment programme; and, (4) whether the Government has any plans to hedge our foreign borrowings against adverse exchange rates.
