First, I want to state that I oppose this proposed amendment for the following reasons: Firstly, it is not for Parliament to gazette or degazette forest land. If you want to degazette forest land, there is a procedure to be followed and secondly, this particular forest land has been under dispute. It has been contested. Some members of the community have even gone to court and the courts have ruled."
