    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also wish you well in your endeavours. I hope I will benefit in the long run. I want to again thank the Departmental Committee on Lands for having mediated with the Senate on community land. I have noticed that the submissions on this matter are very broad. It is, therefore, very exhaustive. I have no doubt that the issues were ironed out. I am happy to note from the records that the Council of Governors was involved. The NLC was automatically there. More importantly, other special interest groups like human rights groups, FIDA, Action Aid and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) were involved. This is quite explosive and it is very clear what they have done. I want to take this opportunity to thank them for having done what they did. Community land is important and the fact that it has been recognised is good. Areas like Lodwar have expansive land and there is exploitation of natural resources, especially oil.
