    "content": "The Committee held meetings with the petitioner and the CS and observed:- (i) That the section of the Karatina-Jambo-Kagochi Road, which is tarmacked is 12.3 kilometres, but it is not in a satisfactory state. However, it has been earmarked for rehabilitation under the Roads 10,000 Kilometres Programme. The procurement process for this section is underway. (ii) That the section between Kagochi-Karatina University and Gatindu, which is 4.2 kilometres, is gravelled and is currently in a fairly good condition. It is proposed for upgrading to bitumen standard. A development partner, French Development Agency (AFD), funded 2,000 kilometres of roads under the Roads 10,000 Kilometre Programme. The road works will commence in the 2016/2017 Financial Year; and, (iii) That the Gatindu-Gaikuyu-Karatina Hospital road section, which is approximately 20 kilometres, is gravelled and in fair condition. This section has also been proposed for upgrading"
