    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to request for a Statement in respect of the collapse of a section of Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County. Pursuant to Standing Order No. 45 (2) (b), I seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare regarding this unfortunate event. In the Statement, could the Chair give the following information:- (a) Confirm whether the National Construction Authority approved the renovation and provide proof thereof. (b) Provide a list of the tender advertisement for the renovation of the Bukhungu Stadium, the corresponding firms that bid and those that were eventually awarded the tender. (c) Provide the minutes of the County Tender Committee together with the report of the County Technical Tender Evaluation Committee in that tender. (d) Provide the particulars and profiles of the firms that were awarded the said tender, including the details of the directors of those companies, financial statements and tax returns by those companies. (e) State if the procurement procedure as provided for in the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005 was followed in awarding this particular tender. (f) Table a schedule of payments to the firm and/or firms that were awarded the said tender stating how many completion certificates have so far been paid for and the total amount of money so far given to this contractor. (g) Provide the details of the Resident Engineer supervising the construction and copies of his recommendation against every completion certificate paid for to-date. (h) Explain what cost the collapse of the stadium in the first place. (i) Explain the steps the County Government of Kakamega is taking to ensure that there is value for money upon completion of the project and ensure that the current The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
