    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wish to support this Motion. From the outset, I want to say that the reason why we have been unable to deal with this matter of sugar is lack of political will. In the past, it has been very difficult to deal with these barons. I hear some of our colleagues calling them smugglers. There is no way sugar can be easily smuggled into this country. It is something that can only come in through the connivance of a whole chain of officials. This is the right moment to deal with this matter once and for all because it has been demonstrated in the last couple of weeks that we seem to have some goodwill to deal with corruption. The President has demonstrated in the last couple of weeks or so that he is prepared to deal with corruption. We need to support him because he has got nothing to fear. In the past, he would have feared that, perhaps, he would lose re-election but now that he is not seeking any re-election, he needs to help us to deal with this matter once and for all.
