    "content": "It is the responsibility of the Government to protect its citizens. Once there is that suspicion that some sugar is laced with mercury, the Government must seem to act. The only action we need from the Government is to withdraw the sugar from the market and have it destroyed, regardless of how much money somebody must have put in importing that sugar because those are cartels. I would also like to say that the Government is in denial. You cannot selectively deal with corruption. You cannot tell us that the Government does not know the importers of this contraband sugar. You cannot. The Government has the machinery to find out who has imported this sugar. If the Government stands to protect a few individuals for whatever gains they get from those individuals, the Government is lying to Kenyans. It is not protecting its citizens. Thank you, Hon.
