The Supplementary Budget that the Chairman is moving is meant to help tackle the unending drought in this country. I come from a region which is devastated by the drought and any effort by the Government to put money to alleviate the biting drought is welcome.   • 7 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: The Supplementary Budget targets the security in this country. In the recent primaries, every polling station needed to be guarded by security personnel. It will be the same thing during the election on 8th August 2017. Therefore, there is need to have the right financial support to do it rightly. We have also seen that there has been an increase in the recruitment of officers. All these activities need money. I read the report and found out that all the Members, including the Chair of this Committee, have the requisite requirements necessary for them to serve in these offices. These are capable Kenyans. Secondly, the other issue is that we need to bring back the confidence of Wanjiku or Halima, for that matter, in elections in Kenya. This team has homework to do; confidence building within minds of Kenyans. We must bring the reputation of IEBC back so that we do not shout everyday that elections are stolen.
