  • 9 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. On my own behalf and that of the people of Bomet East and the greater Bomet County, I take this opportunity to convey my sincere condolences to the family of the late Hon. Simon Nyachae. I remember him for the great work that he did for this country. The late Nyachae convinced my husband, the late Kipkalya Kones, to ditch the Kenya African National Union (KANU) in the year 2002 and vied on FORD-People ticket. The late Simon Nyachae was a true friend because when my husband lost the seat, he nominated him back to Parliament. ... view
  • 10 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I join my colleagues in conveying my sincere condolences on my behalf, on behalf of my family and on behalf of the great people of Bomet East and Bomet County at large on the passing on of our second President Moi. He was a great leader. He empowered the girl-child. If you go to any constituency or any county, you will find a girls’ school named after Moi, for example, Moi Siongoroi Girls and many others. We have gone there twice. It is a very interactive Parliament. Kenya is one of the 52 states that attend the Pan-African Parliament. When we went there, key issues were tackled. We started with the swearing-in ceremony followed by key address by the chair of the Pan-African Parliament. We then elected members to various committees and caucuses. Kenya was lucky because Hon. Janet Ong’era was elected as the Chairperson of the Eastern Caucus. The rest of us ... view
  • 9 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I register my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the Members who have contributed to this Motion. I saw a lot of passion for Pan-Africanism from Members. I took note of their recommendations and contributions in the course of the debate. I request Members to read this Report so that they can apply their minds to the various resolutions on matters affecting the member-states that were adopted in the Report of the 6th Ordinary Session of the 4th Pan African Parliament. I also thank my colleagues, Members of the Pan African Parliament from the Kenyan Parliament, ... view
  • 12 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this time to join my colleagues and the rest of Kenyans in airing my condolences, those of my family, the people of Bomet Constituency, and the entire Bomet County. The loss of Prof. Saitoti, hon. Orwa Ojode, the two pilots and the two security officers is a big loss to this country. I pass my condolences to their families in this time of loss. My family and I received the sad news as we were commemorating the fourth anniversary of the loss of my dear husband, the late Kipkalya Kones, ... view
