  • 26 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The Committee also observed that Afrison Import Export Limited has been a past beneficiary of compensation of acquisition of the General Service Unit land and other pieces of land portraying lack of planning and management on compulsory acquisition by the NLC. No transfer of land was made from Afrison to the Government in regard to the GSU housing. This is the second attempt by similar names and same companies purporting to be international squatters or briefcase squatters in the Republic of Kenya. The first time they went with Kshs6 billion on the GSU housing project. Now this is the second ... view
  • 21 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this moment to contribute. I will be very brief. We are very anxious about the upcoming report from the Departmental Committee on Lands in regard to the Ruaraka land scandal. However, I must say a good job has been done by the Committee on Delegated Legislation. I must commend them for remaining very firm and not allowing themselves to be swindled by the Senate. It must be very clear that there must be guidelines. In my case as a woman representative, there is a committee which sits and decides the purpose intended ... view
  • 21 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Senate must stay clear and put. From the outset, upon the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, I must say as a House there was a mistake. This is the time we should have streamlined clearly the roles of the committees in the National Assembly and the roles of committees in the Senate. Therefore, in this case, I also say I oppose them. I support them in opposing this fund and I want to pre-empt that in the next supplementary budget, this money should be given to these legislators so that they can take to many emerging issues and ... view

  • 19 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: My intention is very clear. Members agreed that we need to adjourn this House and discuss matters related to sugar. We will be doing that at 5.30 p.m., it is already 4.00 p.m. This is of big importance because we have passed the Budget for the Financial Year 2018/2019. We need to move forward discussing this matter and resolve it because we were in agreement. We need to discuss matters of national importance like the sugar business deals and scandals. view

  • 19 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to call upon Hon. Chris Wamalwa to second. view
  • 11 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this great opportunity this morning in this august House. God has given us an opportunity to bring this conversation to the Floor and allow Kenyans to connect with what we do every day. We continue affirming to them what we feel, particularly about the problems facing them with regard to cancer. A Notice of Motion was moved on this Floor as regards to declaration of cancer as a national disaster. Thereafter, I embarked on a journey to find out the problems that a majority of Kenyans face, starting with the county ... view
