  • 4 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: As we have been told, the purpose of Pan-African Parliament is cooperation and unity among member states which ensures full participation of the African people. There is economic and regional integration in the continent. We noted that the outstanding protocols that have not been ratified as stated by Hon. Janet, will be ratified because there is goodwill. view
  • 4 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: There are few observations that we made when we visited Pan-African Parliament. One, in every organisation, it is critical that you have a representative in the leadership. I appreciate that for the East African caucus because we have Hon. Janet Ong’era as the Chairperson. We also have Dr. Abdullahi in the International Relations and Conflict Resolution Committee as a rapporteur. But as you have clearly heard Hon. Ong’era state, the leadership of the Bureau has absolutely no person from Kenya. We noted that in the secretariat of Pan-African Parliament, there is only one single Kenyan, a lady. We need to ... view
  • 4 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you once again, Madam Janet Ong’era and your team for a good report and for being good ambassadors for the country at Pan-African Parliament. I beg to second. view
  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I too rise to support the approval of names as presented to this House today. As my colleagues have said, I also note that there is a 50-50 gender balance in the names as presented. I hope and believe that in future, all other appointments will follow the trend. Secondly, I wish to note that there are pending reforms. I believe that once in office, the members of IPOA will expedite all the reforms not only for the sake of services to the people of Kenya, but also to improve on the ... view
  • 4 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for allowing me this opportunity. I want to second the amendment that the two islands, namely, Mfangano and Ringiti, be included in the list of the others that are already in the Motion. The naval supervision or patrol is necessary on the islands. Thank you. view
  • 4 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I stand here to support the Motion. First and foremost, this matter has been going on for many years, precisely in this House for the last 15 years. I want to request my colleagues that let us bring this matter to a closure. Secondly, we cannot continue talking about regional integration, one passport, free access while at the same time our people are being arrested and charged Kshs20,000 illegally for being on Kenyan waters. Let us commit today that we as the 12th Parliament must bring this ... view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I beg to support the proposal for the simple reason that the Government has invested a lot of money in putting up TVET institutions in different constituencies. We know that in those TVET institutions, special focus is put on what is best for that region. Mine, for instance, is agricultural engineering. I believe that this Budget will support this kind of industry in my area. We need to give our young people opportunities to do businesses. Where else would we be able to grow this, other than through the TVET? I, therefore, support the ... view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I also support. Just as my colleagues have said, this is one area that we have seen its effectiveness in the country. If anything, I would have wished that the DPP is strengthened by being given more money. I believe that can be done in the Supplementary Budget. view
  • 5 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I realise that my card was not working so you were not able to read my request. view
