One of the amendments is to bring the PS for Treasury to the Board of the Fund. The other amendment seeks to qualify representatives of small-scale farmers from being members of the largest association to members of a cooperative union. We have no issue with the issue of a cooperative union, because according to arrangements in the coffee sector farmers join a coffee society, the societies form a cooperative and the cooperatives aggregate into a union. I understand that Hon. Gichimu had already made that provision. So, the Committee will withdraw our amendment and carry Hon. Gichimu’s amendment which included the omitted provision (h). view
