  • 15 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Much has been said about this Motion that has been presented by Hon. Janet Nangabo. I still take the opportunity to congratulate her for a job well done. This is a well thought out Motion that is important and timely. view

Beyond the physical attributes of this condition, there are some very dehumanising, emotional and un-dignifying effects that come with the condition. As such, it becomes a matter of national interest. view
  • 15 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: More important, the numbers are very high. Because of that, it becomes an issue that this House needs to apply its mind on. One critical thing that is obviously missing in the wording of the Motion is “provision of free healthcare through insurance cover”, especially the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). It is important that we find a way of ensuring that there is provision within the NHIF cover to deal with this condition as a special case even as we push for cases like cancer and liver conditions to be covered in a special way by NHIF. view
