  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I was almost giving up. Thank you very much. From the outset, I would like to congratulate the Mover of this Motion, Hon. Chirchir and the Seconder and my student, Hon. Prof. Ogutu. Very many issues have come up in the House this morning. The problem seems to be implementation of what we discuss here. Very many things come through this House. Recommendations are given but there is always a problem at the implementation stage. Coming to the Motion, we entirely rely on good environment and the rainfall patterns to survive where I come ... view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: staying as catchment areas. I remember, in those days, River Mara used to be a very big river. River Kuja which drains into Lake Victoria used to be a very big river. Nowadays, when rain fails for one to two months, River Kuja becomes a rivulet; a very small stream. The same happens to River Mara. The water disappears. I think we can reverse these adverse effects by planting trees. These trees will enable the land seepage to be better than it is now because they will stop water from flowing fast into the rivers, seas and lakes. We need ... view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to support the Motion. As my able colleague said, we are only seeking permission to discuss specific or specified issues tomorrow. We are still waiting to see what will be tabled by the Leader of the Majority Party then. I support. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. My name is Oroo Oyioka, the Member for Bonchari Constituency in Kisii County. I was here briefly in 2013/2014. You did not get to know me. I wish to thank my people for bringing me back here again. I hope to serve a full term this time round. Regarding the Presidential Address to Parliament, when I look at the decision taken by His Excellency the President, I see somebody who chose unnecessary evil for the purpose of the Constitution and for the purpose of peace. Where I come from, donkey meat is not classified ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: When I look at what the President did, he must have examined his conscience very much and that is why he decided to choose the Constitution of Kenya and peace. He had other alternatives to choose from. He is a human being like you and I. He could have said, “No, I do not accept this. I am the winner because millions of Kenyans voted me in and yet somebody is telling me I am not the Head of State”. Had he taken that route all of you know the kind of country we could be in today. The President ... view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise on two issues. First, I would like to make my maiden speech which has been long overdue. view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Secondly, I will contribute to the Motion. view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: First and foremost, I wish to thank the people for Bonchari for giving me victory which has made it possible for me to be in Parliament today. Though I believe in pre- destiny, initially, my seat was taken from me unfairly but because God had put the pre- destiny which I have talked about, I went to court. I thank the Judiciary, especially the High Court in Kisii for using adduced evidence to find me to be the duly elected Member of Parliament for Bonchari. That is why I am here today. My advocates are in the gallery and I ... view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thirdly, I want to thank the Jogoo – KANU which gave me relentless support from the beginning, during the petition up to now. I think KANU is the party to watch and I am very serious about this. view
