  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to also say something. I start by thanking you most sincerely for the leadership and good guidance you have given us in this House. Your leadership has taught me a lot as a first timer in this House. I also thank the chairs of the committees in which I worked. I participated in the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning under the able leadership of Hon. Limo and Hon. Wanga. I thank them most sincerely for the guidance they gave me in the committee matters. I also worked in the ... view
  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Finally, I thank the great people of Butula for having given me this opportunity to serve in this House for these five years. The people of Butula have gained a lot through my leadership because of the work I have done in these five years which surpasses all the other years. • 8 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to take this opportunity to contribute to the KRA (Amendment) Bill that is geared towards changing the name from KRA to KRS. While I support the change, I would not agree with the idea of giving the Commissioner-General more powers from the Board, because that will amount to almost creating a dictatorial Authority or Service. The Board should maintain its position of controlling the services of the Kenya Revenue Authority. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the other thing I want to mention here is that in the old Act, the Kenya Revenue ... view

  • 7 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: I thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to also add my voice to the Motion on Consideration of the Second Supplementary Estimates for the Financial Year 2021/2022. I support the Supplementary Budget, and especially in the provisions of Article 223 of the Constitution which have been analysed. view
  • 7 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: I also want to add that we amended the Standing Order that covers Article 223 of the Constitution. With that, we will have a lot of controls, when it comes to expenditure against Article 223 of the Constitution which is abused in a way. I hope that with the amendment that we approved recently, and the analysis that is required now, I believe that Article 223 of the Constitution will be controlled properly. view
  • 7 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Therefore, I support the Motion. Thank you. view
  • 7 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the rejection of these draft regulations which were submitted by the IEBC. The IEBC has enough time to go through some of these regulations, particularly those relating to technology. Kenyans have learnt so much on technology that changes can be made any time. So, the IEBC needs to start working on these changes on time to avoid any loopholes that might create problems during election time. I support the Committee for rejecting this because of the timeline. view
  • 7 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: (Butula, ODM: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Report of outstanding funds payable to the NG-CDF by the National Treasury as moved by the Chairman. I chaired the Sub-Committee that went into verification of the documents at the NG-CDF offices. Through our verification and the analysis that we had, it is evident that in the Financial Year 2011/2012 there was a balance of Ksh 541,750,000 which the National Treasury did not release. While in the Financial Year 2013/2014, the National Treasury did not release Kshs2.1 billion. In the Financial Year 2014/2015, the National Treasury did ... view
