  • 24 Oct 2013 in Senate: All right. Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I stand here to support this Motion for two reasons; one, I support it because I am a lover of coffee and I cannot finish a day without taking coffee. Two, I grew up in Kericho, where tea is grown, and I saw the way families struggled – the mother, father and the child all go picking tea – so, I understand the whole struggle. So, these two products need support, and I believe that if farmers are given the support of fertilizer and the marketing, then we will prevent the scenario ... view

  • 22 Oct 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. According to the Report, I noticed that they gave statistics on diseases like Malaria and diarrhea which we can deal with at home. We have organizations that actually concentrate on these diseases. They go from home to home, teaching women on how to take care of their children, how to take care of their water and so on. • 19 Sep 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I rise to support this Motion, first, because I was nominated through a political party that I am still loyal to. The party campaigned and worked hard with so many people in it, and came up with a President, Senators, Members of Parliament, Governors and County Representatives. But right now, if you go to the party, do we have a functioning office? That is a rhetorical question. Is there a county office or any functioning office that you can actually ask somebody for a document when you want it? That is not a question that you can ... view
  • 18 Sep 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker, for giving me this chance to support this Motion. I also thank Prof. Lonyangapuo for bringing this Motion and for reminding us about the KPRs with regard to bringing security in our villages, towns and counties. This Motion addresses three points; their engagements, training and remuneration. I will start by talking about their engagement. You will remember the case of Waiganjo. This incident, in my opinion, came up as a result of negligence. We neglect police reservists, we do not engage them enough or train them but we give them guns. This is like giving ... view
