Hon. Mohammed Ali is a former Investigative Journalist with KTN. He initially planned to run for office on an ODM ticket but lost the nominations.He nonetheless went on to win the seat as an independent candidate.

Hon. Mohammed Ali was also a finalist in the People's Shujaaz Awards 2018 edition under the Health category.
