  • 17 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Bw. Naibu Spika, naomba kujibu.
  • 17 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Bw. Inaonekana ombi hilo halikutufikia. view

  • 2 Aug 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) It is not true that local investors in the tourism sector in Northwest Rift Valley do not receive support from the Tourism Trust Fund (TTF). In fact, the TTF has recently launched the Western Kenya Tourism Area Plan which covers the Northwest Rift Valley Region. In addition, they have carried out institutional capacity building in the Mid-rift Region in order to jumpstart further tourism investment in the entire region. This blueprint has identified the inherent natural resources, key tourist attractions and stakeholders in the respective areas, so that investments are planned, ... view
  • 2 Aug 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the hon. Member is aware that I personally visited his region. I went all the way to Mt. Elgon and even visited his home. Two weeks ago, I was in Lodwar. My main aim of visiting this area was to ensure that it becomes a good tourist destination like any other part of the country. So, I would like the hon. Member to know that I am trying my level best as the Minister to enhance tourism in every part of this country. In addition, plans are underway to make sure that, that place is also ... view
  • 18 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to Second. I want to congratulate the Minister for Moving this Motion under Vote 13. As most of us are aware, infrastructure is very important for the development of a nation. However, for a long time, roads have been in a very bad state, especially during the rainy seasons. This brings us to the importance of having this Vote supported. The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, for example, has suffered a lot of setbacks. Many visitors who visit this country know, as we do, that we have a beautiful country with very attractive ... view

(a) Yes, I am aware that allegations were made that wardens at Tsavo West National Park harassed Maasai herdsmen and sexually molested and even raped their women in January, 2006. • 28 Mar 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, with all due respect to the hon. Member, who happens to be a retired Major-General--- As you have heard, he has confessed that he was in the game park.
