  • 22 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much Hon. Deputy Speaker. I would like to apologise. I would like to say that on that particular day I did not slap Hon. Njagua, it is his cheeks that moved towards my hands. But I am ready to apologise. view
  • 22 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: I, Babu Paul Owino Ongili, by engaging in a public scuffle with Mr. Charles Njagua Kanyi on Tuesday 10th October 2017, within the precincts of the National Assembly, I acted in breach of Section 16(e) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act, 2017 as the conduct reflected adversely on the dignity of Member of this Parliament and this House. • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: This Bill is enshrined in Article 27(8) and Article 81(b) of the Constitution. Whoever goes against the supreme law of the land is not only repugnant, but inconsistent with the natural laws and justice. Women are the crème de la crème of the society. These are very lovely and beautiful people. Women have a way of solving challenges maternally. When a woman is solving a challenge, the intention is for the benefit of her family and for the benefit of the society. Unlike we men, when we are solving challenges, we solve them paternally, which most of the time is ... view
  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The Hon. Member should know what the presidency means. The presidency means the President and the Deputy President. The Hon. Member comes from WDM – K. They were very much advantaged during the last election where the presidency consisted of ODM and WDM - K. view
  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Motion on funding of political parties. We have come from dark days where there was no democratic space. During the KANU era, chama cha baba na mama, we only knew of one political party. I see an Hon. Member getting agitated, but that is the truth. During the dark days, people were never given space to exercise their democratic rights. Now that we have political parties, we cannot run the parties on air. They are like institutions. They require funds just like ministries. Without money in a ministry, there ... view
  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: I support the Report that the parties should be funded. We know that 0.3 per cent of the national revenue should go to funding of political parties. Since 2013, the Government has not implemented this. Therefore, it should implement it. However, there should be checks and balances because there are some useless parties which confuse Kenyans. They do not have MCAs, Members of Parliament and no persons elected to any position. Such parties like the Thirdway Alliance should be deregistered with immediate effect because there is no value they add to the Kenyan citizen. view
