  • 22 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to mislead this House? He has stated that since 1969, this was the estimated population of livestock! Now he is confirming to us that it is the current population! I think we need clarification on which statistics are true. Is it the one for 1969 or the current one? What we want are current statistics of livestock in the country. view

  • 7 Aug 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to contribute. I strongly oppose the Motion. In fact, the hon. Members on the other side of the House, who are really pushing for the passage of this Motion, so that we can go home, are not sincere. We, on this side of the House, are sincere with ourselves. • 24 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am surprised that the Assistant Minister is not aware that the Ogiek were evicted in 1997. I come from the constituency and these are my voters. These are people who are suffering; they have no homes, no shelter and no food. In fact, they are being denied other basic rights like enjoying sex like anybody else would like to do in normal living conditions. Could the Assistant Minister confirm to this House that he is not aware of this? I know that they are there. view

First, I would like to thank the people of Eldoret South for electing me to the Tenth Parliament. I also want to thank God for giving me the strength to go through the electioneering period. I also want to thank God for according Kenya peace through the March 25, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 391 agreement that was signed between President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister-designate, Mr. Raila Odinga. Indeed, God remembered Kenya. That is why we are at peace at this time. I also want to congratulate the ... view
