  • 1 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the two victims are from my constituency and I wish to thank the Member for Igembe South for playing a good neighbour and a good friend to the two young men and their families. I wish to state that I raised the contents of his Statements with the DCI about three days ago. Upon the witness comments, it looks like an AlShabaab attack, but you will notice many of the residents in the area are in the midst of the AlShabaab . They like covering it up so that most of the security agencies lose their track. Fortunately ... view

  • 15 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to bring my sentiments to this one. My emphasis is this: If you find the way leaders have been elevated in the recent times, there should never be an excuse of taking elders to the county assembly or Parliament. This is because they should be people who are prepared and purified through education, so we do not have chaos like we are having in county assemblies. Money is sent there and nobody is able to account because the majority are just waiting to be told: “ Fanya hii. Tufiche hii hapa! Until you find ... view
  • 19 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for the opportunity to also support the nominee, the Hon. Lady Justice Martha Koome to be the next Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya. As the country is celebrating the breaking of the glass ceiling by a woman, the Meru community as well is being taught a lesson that since independence, there is no time the Merus have gone to a ballot box in a general election and elected woman. This would be an eye opener in the sense that when the Lady Justice Koome showed up for nomination at the Judicial Service Commission, ... view

  • 13 May 2021 in National Assembly: Namshukuru Rais wa Jamhuri ya Tanzania, Mhe. Suluhu Hassan. Jirani mwema akiona unanawiri, anafurahia.
  • 13 May 2021 in National Assembly: tunaopanda kule kwetu unaoitwa ‘ miraa ’ ama ‘ maurungi ’ kama unavyojulikana huko.
  • 13 May 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to second that Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, MP for Kiharu be suspended according to Standing Order No.108. I want to qualify by saying that at the moment we were voting, it was very easy to be excited and angry with what was happening. This can be explained as acting on the spur-of-the- moment but to come here and actually emphasis, threaten or imagine there is any explainable reason for those words, is unacceptable to this House. There is a reason why we say this room is The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information ... view
  • 13 May 2021 in National Assembly: different from any others out there. It is the precincts of the august House and when you want to use one word, you call it the hallowed precincts. It is not meant for juveniles, delinquents, drunks and all other adjectives we can use to protect the dignity of those who come here. It does not matter what excitement is there. I wish you had allowed the Member for Gatundu South to say what he was holding because the story would have been different from what you have ruled. I wish to seek the indulgence of the House that we need ... view
