  • 16 May 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the President‟s Award Bill. This is a great opportunity for our youth. The Bible says that train a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. It is also known that it is easier to bend a fresh twig than when it is dry and brittle. So, we need to invest more in our youth. I like the President‟s Awards Programme because it targets our youth and keeps them busy. It is something that should be done countrywide. So, this ... view

  • 16 May 2017 in National Assembly: importance in their growth, health and education. This is an important programme, and we should support it fully. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I like the competitive nature of the programme. Doing this makes it interesting and exciting. It makes the youth want to participate more. So, if it is done well, it will keep our youth out of the streets, encourage talent development and spur talent use. It will also promote incubation and innovation. So, coupled with the activities of girl guides, boy scouts and all other existing programmes, I believe, we will have a youth segment that grows up ... view

  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I thank and congratulate Hon. Agoi for coming up with this very important amendment Bill. It is important and timely. It is a good amendment Bill that we should adopt. This is an era where we cannot continue to tolerate malpractices and not to have a good way of handling the malpractices. view

When we have a tribunal which will handle this, it will be very appropriate and it will save time for the young people and will be good for them to move on with their lives having known their fate. view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: We cannot tolerate malpractices. Just as in the same manner, we, in National Super Alliance (NASA), will not tolerate irregularities in the forthcoming elections. We wish the likes of Matiang’i would be in the IEBC to ensure that we have credible elections. That is a by the way. view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: In this amendment Bill, I welcome the fact that disciplinary procedures will be done by the KNEC and they will be done in real time. This will also save time for people who have any complaints before nullification is done. This will enhance the quality and control of examinations and it also gives KNEC more power and more authority to handle activities that are before them. The powers of KNEC will be enhanced and they will be in a position to determine cases in good time and where there are examination malpractices, there will be no delays and the lives ... view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Examinations mean a lot to the youth or our children. They mean a lot to parents and the entire community. So, it is important that a proper process and procedure is put in place so that we do not have the tussles we have been having over the years. view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: I welcome and support this amendment Bill. The tribunal will be constituted in such a manner that it will handle most of the issues that arise during commission of malpractices. view
